Sports activities in Florida for the anniversary of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution

Florida, Sep 29.- In greeting to the 63rd anniversary of the creation of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), a marathon was held simultaneously at the Sports Complexes of Argentina, Agramonte and Ibarra, with the participation of students from all levels of education in the territory’s educational institutions.

Sponsored by the General Directorate of Education and the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), the event promoted other sports activities where the basketball game, a Let’s play program and a badminton exhibition stood out, with the collaboration of the teachers of that specialty.

At the beginning of the marathon, Héctor Ferrán Jiménez, head of the Physical Education department at Combinado Argentina, gave a historical account of the CDR in Cuba and its creation by Commander Fidel Castro, and highlighted the main actions that this mass organization, the largest in the country, has developed for more than six decades.
