Florida Civil Defense checks measures to prevent toxic gas leaks

Florida, Aug 27.- In order to ensure compliance with preventive measures against fires and the escape of toxic gases, the Municipal Civil Defense body in Florida is currently conducting a series of visits to industries and other units in the territory where various amounts of chemicals are used.

Among the first units visited, the Tomás Rojas Rodríguez meatpacking plant, the chlorine purification plant belonging to the Aqueduct entity in the town, and the facilities of the Combinado Lácteo stand out, centers where strict adherence to safety and protection standards is required for the storage and use of chemical substances and fuels necessary in production processes.

In this management task to reduce the risk of fires and industrial accidents, the Directorate of Civil Defense in Florida visits each production unit or factory with an inspection team made up of local specialists from the Ministries of the Interior, Science, Technology and Environment, Labor and Social Security and Public Health.

The work of this group is aimed at checking and specifying in each local industry where chemical substances are used, the measures required to prevent toxic gas leaks and fires that endanger the lives of workers, the integrity of the factory and safety. of people in the rest of the municipality.
