Florida, February 25 – The Municipal Committee of the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC) in Florida is strengthening its internal operations and planning new initiatives based on the analysis of agreements and projections stemming from its IX Congress, with an emphasis on institutional strengthening and the qualitative growth of the organization in the region.
ANEC in the municipality has 222 members organized into 34 local chapters, a structure that allows for an active presence in strategic organizations of the local economy. The membership possesses significant scientific potential, with 14 percent of professionals holding master’s degrees and a number of PhDs, which fosters the generation of research and proposals aimed at improving economic management.
In terms of professional development, the organization promotes ongoing training and the certification of accountants and financial statements as a means to elevate the accounting profession and enhance the credibility of economic information.
ANEC insists on the need to resume the effective application of cost accounting systems and strengthen information discipline as cornerstones for more rigorous decision-making.
The organization’s internal operations focus on improving the quality of its membership, refining the member registry, and incorporating new membership categories, such as Institutional and Solidarity Members, which expands opportunities for integration and growth. Likewise, work is underway to redesign the self-financing scheme and to seek new sources of income to support the sustainability of the municipal structure.
In the area of communication, ANEC maintains outreach programs to promote economic literacy among the population and is developing a comprehensive strategy to strengthen its institutional visibility.
Similarly, it prioritizes serving students in economics and related fields through agreements and initiatives that encourage professional development and a sense of belonging.
With these projections, ANEC in Florida reaffirms its mission to consolidate itself as a scientific and professional organization capable of generating knowledge, supporting strategic processes and contributing, from ethics and technical preparation, to the economic development of the municipality.
