Florida, August 11 – The progress of the Maternal and Child Health and Food Production programs, along with an analysis of retail trade in the Trade and Gastronomy Enterprise, were the main topics on the agenda of the most recent working session of the Florida Municipal Administration Council.
During the meeting, it was reported that the territory has an infant mortality rate of 17 per 1,000 live births, with 176 births recorded up to the end of June and three infants under one year old dying during that period.
According to the analysis, the biggest problem facing the Maternal and Child Health Program in Florida today is the care provided to pregnant women, who are experiencing nutritional deficiencies, delays in receiving imaging appointments, and a lack of transportation to access specialized care in the provincial capital.
In discussing the results of food production, the Florida Municipal Administration Council advocated for greater organization in this sector, taking advantage of the new measures approved by the government to transform the economy and meet the needs of the people.
Regarding the negative results of the Commercial Circulation program at the Trade and Gastronomy Enterprise, the local government’s executive body called for improved business management and the exploitation of opportunities such as linking up with other economic actors to increase revenue, reduce losses, and fulfill its corporate purpose.
The regular session of the Florida Municipal Administration Council for the month of August also included the approval of housing application files, as well as the release, at the personal request of the current Municipal Director of Labor and Social Security, Yamilka Gorid Benítez, who, it was stated, will assume other duties within the same entity.
