Florida, Dec. 20 – In the municipality of Florida the number of economic actors with QR codes enabled for electronic commerce is increasing, but to date there is little evidence of their use in sales activities, to the detriment of the need to reduce dependence on cash.
This was verified by government authorities and inspection bodies of the municipality in the recent Exercise of Prevention and Fight against Crime and Illegalities, in the process of bankarization, one of the objectives of control and inspection.
According to the report of the municipal administration, among the main incidents during this stage, 10 closed stores were detected to evade the state control exercise and it was also verified the little use of QR codes, in most of the cases within the commercialization activities in the private sector.
On several occasions, public denunciations have been made about the few options offered in Florida to the working people to acquire basic products and services through the different digital payment channels.
In the private sector, in most cases the presence of the QR code is more a function of showing it to inspectors than offering it to customers to make their payments without relying solely on cash.
