Florida, Sept. 28 – A political and cultural event held in Constituency 13 of the Rolando Valdivia People’s Council marked the 66th anniversary of the founding of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR)—the country’s largest mass organization—in the municipality of Florida.
The celebration was attended by key local political and government officials, led by Misleydis Ramírez Nuñez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba; Evelyn Márquez Álvarez, President of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power; and Yunior Juan Vega Rivero, the territory’s Intendant; as well as other representatives from mass organizations.
During the event, Yumilka Cuba Morales, the general coordinator of the CDR in Florida, presented membership cards to three young people who have played an outstanding role in the community’s social activities.
The occasion also served as an opportunity to award the «National Vanguard» distinction to Eleodoro Carbajal García (MSc) in recognition of his consistent participation in all CDR activities; additionally, several leaders and CDR members received recognition for their years of service within the mass organization.
