Florida, Nov. 19 – The Cuban Vaccination Campaign Quimi-Vio 7 valente is progressing with favorable results in the municipality of Florida, said Dr. Yailin Pérez Abreu, head of the Immunization Program at the municipal Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology of the territory.
The specialist referred that in this campaign, more than 500 children born in 2022, from the age of two years old, are immunized and it is applied in the vaccinatories of the Health areas of the locality.
The doctor explained that this vaccine protects infants against seven of the most infectious and prevalent serotypes of the pneumococcus bacteria, which causes most pneumonia and bacterial meningitis in children, as well as other bloodstream infections, such as acute otitis media, sinusitis and bronchitis.
