New First Secretary Appointed to the Communist Party in Florida

Florida, September 1st – The Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Florida approved the proposal to relieve Comrade Liliana Boudet Nápoles of her duties as First Secretary of that body in the territory. Comrade Misleidy Ramírez Núñez was appointed to fill this position.

A young graduate in Industrial Engineering, Misleidy has extensive experience as an administrative staff member and has held various political positions, culminating in her appointment as head of the Political-Ideological sphere within the Municipal Bureau.

Chaired by Walter Simón Noris, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Camagüey, the Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Municipal Committee of the organization in Florida also included other internal changes on its agenda, among them the appointment of Yaldel Morales Rodríguez and Alexeis Cobas Romero as new members of the Municipal Bureau.

During the meeting, Liliana Boudet Nápoles was recognized and thanked for her effort, daily dedication, fighting spirit, and humanism during her more than three years as the top political leader of the municipality of Florida. She was the first woman to hold such a high-ranking position in the town’s history. Comrade Liliana will be assigned other missions.

In summarizing the Party Plenum in Florida, Walter Simón Noris called for unity and collective work on party tasks, increased training for young people as the natural successors in every structure of society, and continued dedication to defending the Revolution and the achievements of Socialism.
