Professor Gaspar López Campbell is indispensable in the sports career of the sprinter Yarima García Díaz

Florida, Nov 15.- Mr. Gaspar López Campbell was the first coach of sprinter Yarima García Díaz, who became the first Floridian woman to win a Gold medal in the Pan American Games, as the youngest member of the champion Cuban women’s relay in the 4×100 test at the Santiago de Chile 2023 event.

Currently, Professor Campbell appreciates with admiration how much that 7-year-old girl has grown. He identified that she had the conditions to be a fast runner and taught her the first steps to reach the finish line as quickly as possible.

The journalist Yunier Soler Castellanos obtained statements from Campbell in the following interview that Radio Florida puts for your consideration, as it is a recognition of that first coach who from very early on contributed to enhancing the athletic talent that the young runner exhibits today, who at only 19 years she inscribed her name in the history of sports in her land.
