Florida Party Leader Calls for Unity and Creative Resilience in the Face of Current Challenges (+Post)

Florida, Sept. 28 – While closing the 31st Ordinary Session of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Florida, Misleidy Ramírez Núñez, First Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, issued a vigorous call to strengthen unity, unleash collective creativity, and advance firmly toward local autonomy to confront the country’s complex economic situation.

On the eve of the 66th anniversary of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, the Party leader acknowledged the severe fuel and electricity shortages resulting from the blockade imposed by the U.S. government.

Faced with this scenario, she urged the expansion of solidarity-based alternatives and prioritized attention to vulnerable individuals—especially the elderly and pregnant women—alongside the implementation of the 176 socioeconomic transformations approved for the territory.

During her remarks, Ramírez Núñez reflected on key issues of the government agenda. Regarding the education sector, she insisted on improving teacher staffing and pedagogical training. When evaluating the summer season, she called for maintaining recreational options in communities and resolving long-standing public concerns—such as improving the road to the beach, currently hindered by a lack of financial resources and fuel—through collective insistence on solutions.

Addressing the preliminary draft of the 2027 Economic Plan, the First Secretary emphasized the urgent need to boost food production and provide direct support to agricultural producers. She also demanded strict tax compliance and a direct crackdown on tax evasion to reduce the current budget deficit, all backed by rigorous grassroots oversight to ensure the proper final use of every resource. Finally, the political leader called upon the delegates and the people of Florida to wage a battle on social media—as active combatants—in defense of the revolutionary cause, and she capped her speech by invoking Fidel Castro’s legacy regarding the importance of winning the future through the effort, sweat, and talent amassed by Cuban society.
