Agricultural Production Results Analyzed in Florida

Florida, August 18 – The current situation of agricultural production in the municipality, the laws established for the sector’s operation, and an analysis of those who failed to comply with food collection plans were the main topics of the extraordinary meeting of the Contracting and Price Agreement Committee held in Florida.

Elvis Pérez Olivera, Program and Objectives Coordinator of the provincial government, along with executives from Agriculture, Finance, and contracting agencies at that level, reviewed the results of the delivery of milk, meat, and various crops to date, and demanded greater control over production and information discipline from agri-food entities.

Among the distortions denounced at the meeting was the fact that only 28 of Florida’s 45 productive forms contracted with Acopio for the sale of various crops this year; Meanwhile, 10 signatory cooperatives, with more than 600 tons of root vegetables, grains, and other items committed, have not reported anything during the current calendar year.

As a result of the debate, an agreement was reached to conduct an audit of the non-compliant units to determine the use of the resources received and the agreed production, income during the period, financial statements, statistical information, and bank account transactions.

Regarding milking and milk collection, the municipality’s cattle farmers currently face a debt of half a million liters with the industry, with 265 cattle ranchers who have failed to keep their promises and 47 tenants completely unrelated to their state duties.

Although the meeting of the Florida Municipal Contracting and Price Agreement Committee recognized compliance with beef delivery and the progress of the territory in indicators such as herd reproduction, a call was also made to monitor individual results in this task.
