Florida, Mar 14.- Among the strengths of the Cuban Electoral System is the possibility of counting on the disinterested collaboration of thousands of people willing to assume legal responsibilities and other missions, voluntarily, to contribute to the successful development of each process. .
This is demonstrated by the more than 400 Floridians invested as authorities linked to the General Elections in the 80 constituencies of the territory, where teachers, doctors, students, housewives, peasants, intellectuals and non-state workers, among others, were selected to hold positions. in the constituency commissions and polling stations that will receive voters on March 26.
Each one of them, after ratifying their willingness to comply with said assignment, receives general preparation on issues related to the Electoral Law, the objective and characteristics of the call in which they will perform their functions, and the ethics and respect to be taken into account. in relations with the electorate and with the rest of the population and its social, political and governmental leaders.
The popular leadership in the electoral processes of Cuba goes beyond the mere exercise of the vote; It is also magnified in the rights to propose, form candidacies and choose the aspirants to occupy even the highest positions of the Government and the State; and in the universal opportunity to act as guarantors of the quality and transparency of all the steps to be taken in any call to the polls.
