Florida Artists Star in Cultural Evening for International Youth Day

Florida, August 14 – The people of Florida celebrated International Youth Day and the Centenary of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, with a cultural evening featuring emerging artists and young creators from the region.

During the evening event held at Cielo Floridano, with the presence of the highest authorities of the region, the Tuabaquey Dance Group was recognized for its 25 years of success, under the leadership of its promoter, José Antonio Reyes.

Also receiving applause from the audience were Gabriela Beltrán León, winner of the Provincial Friends of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) Competition and National Winner of the Martí Youth Event, and Erly Cabrera Espinosa, who won the Silver Medal in Badminton at the recently concluded Central American and Caribbean Games.

Meanwhile, the Union of Young Communists presented Bety Marrero Reguera, Director of Culture in Florida, with the work One Hundred Footprints for Fidel, a compilation of footprints and personal signatures that symbolize the unity between the leaders and the people, to be exhibited in the Municipal Museum.
