Florida, April 1 – The third Photovoltaic Solar Park in the province of Camagüey will be built in the municipality of Florida, with a capacity of nearly 20 megawatts of electricity generation, to contribute to the National Electricity System (SEN), as part of the strategy implemented in Cuba to install 26 of these parks throughout the country before the end of the year.

Located in the northern part of the territory, the land is already being measured and cleared in order to prepare the site conditions to start construction work as soon as possible, as this is one of the Cuban government’s priority tasks.
This Government Program, which pursues the gradual transition to the use of clean and renewable energy, contemplates the installation of 92 similar parks throughout the archipelago, designed to contribute 2,12,000 megawatts of power to the SEN, in a construction and synchronization schedule that extends until 2028.
Cuba is betting on a greater use of renewable sources in the national electro-energy development, to take advantage of its clean and cost-free energy benefits that reduce environmental pollution.
