Florida, Dec. 4.- Until December 7, activities will take place in the municipality of Florida to pay tribute to the heroes of the country and Cuban internationalist martyrs who gave their lives in defense of freedom for other peoples of the world.
According to the program approved by the political and governmental leadership of the territory, the commemorative actions will take place in communities, work and study centers that bear the name of combatants and heroes linked to the different historical anniversaries of December 7, and include visits to relatives of the fallen and talks in educational institutions, among others.
As already announced, the closing of the current call for homage to the heroes will be on the 7th itself with the reissue of Operation Tribute on its 35th anniversary.
This manifestation of mourning also constitutes a traditional show of respect by the people of Florida to the memory of the Bronze Titan, Antonio Maceo Grajales, and his young assistant Panchito Gómez Toro, who died in combat on a similar date, but in 1896.
