Floridian farmers with new goals for the current cold planting season

Florida, Sep. 18 – Rice crops will occupy more than 40% of the total hectares planned to be planted by the farmers of the municipality of Florida in the current cold planting campaign.

According to the data disseminated by the direction of the Agroindustrial Agricultural Company of the territory, in the stage it is proposed to reach about 100 caballerias covered with the cereal, through the modality of wet paddy rice.

The largest volume of planting of this grain will be assumed by usufructuary and farmers associated in different Credit and Service Cooperatives (CCS) of Florida, with emphasis on «Ernesto Guevara», «Camilo Torres» and «Carlos Díaz Cervantes», which will assume in their properties almost 80% of the total commitment of the municipality.

The promotion of rice production in agreement with the entities that manage the arable land and the control of the destiny of the harvests of that line are tasks that demand to advance with better pace in Florida, much more when we speak here of urgencies in the local self-sufficiency and strategies to achieve food sovereignty.
