Second dose of anti-influenza vaccine is progressing well in Florida

Florida, Sep. 18 – The application of the second dose of influenza vaccination to children from six months to one year, 11 months and 29 days is 99 percent complete in the municipality of Florida.

Out of a total of 719 children to be vaccinated, 708 children have already been immunized, with the objective of preventing them against seasonal influenza, a disease that causes death in infants.

Reynaldo Morín Báez, responsible for the chronic non-communicable diseases program at the Municipal Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology, urges pregnant women, regardless of their gestational trimester and maternal age, to be vaccinated with the anti-flu vaccine.

Every year, the country invests thousands of pesos to carry out the flu vaccination campaign for these six-month-old infants and other at-risk population groups in the municipality of Florida, so it should be applied to all those included in the total.
