Florida, Aug. 9 – In response to the call to promote artistic appreciation in the general public, the instructors of Casa de Cultura Luis Casas Romero, in the municipality of Florida, are developing at its headquarters, during the current summer season, workshops of different specialties where knowledge and art converge.
A fundamental part of the realization of these workshops is the alliance established with the educational institutions of the territory, which allows reaching a wider public in which children, young people and adolescents of different educational levels stand out.
The plastic arts workshops are given by the instructor Marlon Calvario Guillen, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m., and the participants have the opportunity to learn design techniques, paper mache, handicrafts and engraving.
Students join the group and learn to draw, using crayons, watercolors and colored pencils, to make three-dimensional figures with papier-mâché, as well as to make posters with magazine and newspaper clippings.
The most important cultural institution in the municipality of Florida also offers workshops on musical creation and appreciation, under the supervision of experienced teachers Josué Seota García and Rosa Martínez García, who share with their students basic knowledge of harmony and vocalization, and seek to create in them the skills that will enable them to learn to play an instrument.
The purpose of the collective of instructors of the institution is to celebrate the 45 years of its foundation, taking advantage of the summer period, with cultural proposals at its headquarters, communities and popular councils, which in addition to teaching, allows the population to use their free time in a pleasant and fun way.
