The municipality of Florida needs to harvest and stockpile more than 10 thousand tons of viands, vegetables and grains every year to meet the food demands of the territory.
In the last periods, the official results reported the contracting of a little more than 20 percent of the referred figure, in the midst of a battle to win against crop deviations, the actions of resellers, the lack of effort and commitment of a group of farmers and the increase in prices due to the deficient supply of several crops.
Even when the Floridian authorities proclaimed a growth in the plantation of cassava, sweet potato and rice, among others, what has been achieved is still insufficient, and too many farmers and agricultural collectives are entrenched in the justifications for not complying with plans and keeping the land idle.
Undoubtedly, the lack of fuel and the drought constituted immense brakes to promote the multiple tasks required to plant food, but there will always be questions in the air: How do those who keep the fields covered with plantations do it, while others, even with greater possibilities, do not bury even a banana vine?

Schools, hospitals, maternity and old people’s homes, retired people and children, teachers, doctors and nurses, sick or disabled people, and many others who cannot turn to the ground because of their limitations and vital duties, and deserve to have access to a quantity and quality food supply at reasonable prices.
Therefore, together with the criticism and the call to produce more, directed to the defaulters and defaulters, the highest authorities of the Communist Party and the Government in Florida also promote and transfer the popular recognition for others who, in the midst of shortages and limitations, do not lose heart in their efforts to think as a country, and as a people, in the planting, harvesting and collection of various crops in the lands of the region.
