Florida, July 31 – The members of the Federación de Mujeres Cubanas (FMC) in the municipality of Florida deserved to host the provincial ceremony for August 23, the date on which the 64th anniversary of the women’s organization in the country was celebrated.
This merit is due to the work carried out and the fulfillment of measurable indicators such as growth of the number of women and social work, which allowed them to achieve the status of National Vanguard in the Emulation for the anniversary, shared with the Camagüey municipality of Sierra de Cubitas.
Grouped in 494 base delegations, the municipality of Florida has more than 27 thousand affiliates with active participation in community work and determined support to tasks related to food production and sanitation of the city and rural communities.
Rita Viltres Ríos, secretary general of the FMC in the locality, informed that since they are worthy of the provincial act for August 23rd in salute to the 64th anniversary of the foundation of the Federation of Cuban Women, activities will be carried out in each popular council of the territory to recognize the most outstanding women of those demarcations.
