Florida’s infant mortality rate below national average

Florida, Jul. 23 – The Florida Public Health system, together with the rest of the actors of the municipality linked to the Maternal and Infant Care Program, will welcome the new anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes headquarters with a significant reduction in the mortality rate, compared to the same period of the previous calendar.

With almost two hundred successful deliveries up to the end of the second decade of this month, the territory exhibits a survival rate above 99 percent.

From January to date in the municipality of Florida, only one baby was lost before reaching the first year of life, which means an infant mortality rate of 5.1 per thousand live births, a considerable improvement over the results of the same period in 2023.

Undoubtedly, this is the best gift for the Centennial Generation that covered itself with glory in the assault on the Moncada headquarters on July 26, 1953, and especially for the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, eternal defender and promoter of the rights and welfare of children in this Caribbean nation.
