Florida, Jul. 23 – At the close of the 2023-2024 school year, the Education, Science and Sports Union (SNTECD) in Florida awarded the most outstanding workers in support of education during the school year.
José Lázaro Farías Luis, agricultural counselor at Manuel Fajardo elementary school; José Manzanet Peláez, from Rigoberto Corcho junior high school in the countryside; Ricardo Arufe Hernández, administrator of the Sabino Pupo Milián Polytechnic Institute; together with the cook at the rural pre-university Rolando Valdivia Fernández and Juana Rosario Martín Ramos, were among the honored.
Brinny Mary Pearce Ugalde, Yaisel Naranjo and Larismel Romero Ortiz were recognized as the best graduates of the Nicolás Guillén Provincial Pedagogical School; at the end of school year ceremony, Yaidalis Conde González and Yenny Capote Niebla, students of the Municipal University Center, were also honored for their academic results.
The altruistic gesture of returning to the classrooms to continue teaching was noted when diplomas of appreciation were given to the retired Obdulia González Acosta, from Manuel Ascunce Domenech elementary school; Odalis Zulueta Nocedo, director of the José Luis Tassende de las Muñecas special school, together with Nancy González Dorta and Cristina Esther Callender Gittens, therapists of that educational institution, were also honored.
