Florida, June 4 – The Tespi Theater Project of the Luis Casas Romero House of Culture of the municipality of Florida was awarded in the fourth edition of the Provincial Theater Festival Between Gestures and Words, held in the last days of May in the city of Camagüey, with the play Once Upon a King, directed by art instructor Roberto Machado Ávila.
In the children’s category, Kevin Fuentes Hernandez, from the Circo Ilusion project of instructor Arienny Oviedo and cultural promoter Alejandro Acea Rivero, from the House of Culture, were awarded in the event, while Wilman Zambrano Haplenton won the prize for the best male performance among adults.
The Provincial Theater Festival was a space to showcase the best exponents of the scenic creation of the System of Houses of Culture and an opportune occasion to socialize researches of art instructors and recognize artistic units and promoters of the province of Camagüey.
The current edition of Entre Gestos y Palabras was dedicated to the 35 years of work of playwright and instructor María Julia Sariol González and to the Clara Narración project of the municipality of Nuevitas for its creative contribution to this performing arts modality.
