Florida urged to plant more trees to counter the sweltering heat

Florida, May 15 – The maximum temperatures in Florida frequently reach these days up to 36 degrees Celsius, according to records of the local Agrometeorological Station, and in the street under the sun the heat sensation is even greater in this municipality.

Such conditions require the reinforcement of skin care and hydration measures to protect the human organism in general, and looking to the future, the importance of increasing the planting of trees to counteract the impact of high temperatures is reaffirmed, a phenomenon that could become much worse in the future due to climate change, a consequence of environmental pollution.

In addition to producing vital oxygen, trees help reduce temperatures because their branches reduce the incidence of sunlight on the ground and, according to scientific studies, their leaves are capable of absorbing up to 50 percent of sunlight and release moisture.

These hot days in the municipality of Florida also show the need for more trees, which ratifies the priority of an even greater reforestation program and to do it in an orderly and responsible manner to prevent their branches from representing a danger to the integrity of electrical grids or homes.
