Florida, May 6 – The Cuban Revolution’s policy of leaving no one homeless materialized once again in the municipality of Florida with the delivery of new resources to 285 families and individuals in critical or vulnerable social situations.
More than 900 items, including a refrigerator, individual mattresses and beds, towels, sheets and personal beds were distributed to benefit single mothers with three or more children, the chronically ill, children affected by serious or low prevalence diseases, the elderly without family support or in a situation of disability, and other figures and citizens protected by Social Assistance.
The donation of the aforementioned means of living offers continuity to the program promoted by the Government through the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, with the objective of offering real support to groups and individuals at an economic, physical and opportunity disadvantage with the rest of the community.
According to economic data from the municipal Labor Department, more than three million pesos of the budget allocated for the purchase and distribution of resources that improved the quality of life of hundreds of beneficiaries of the Social Assistance system in the geography of Florida have been executed so far this year.
The evaluation of the allocation of said resources is carried out in a collegiate manner through the Social Prevention Commissions of the People’s Councils and at the municipal level, and the community groups, coordinated by the Labor Department and with the participation of the representatives of Public Health and Internal Commerce.
