The 63 National Bivalent Oral Polio Vaccination Campaign Started in Florida

Florida, April 23.- The 63rd Bivalent Oral Antipolio Vaccination campaign began in the municipality of Florida to immunize more than 1,600 children in this first stage that extends until April 26.

Dr. Naida del Pilar Prendes Caballero, responsible for the Immunization program at the municipal Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology Center, reported that among the infants to be vaccinated are children under one year old born in 2023, but those little ones who reached the world in the months of January, February and until March 22 of the current calendar will also be immunized in this campaign.

With the aim of keeping polio eliminated, children up to two years, 11 months and 29 days old will also receive the immunogen, which will be administered in the Family Doctor’s offices and in the vaccination centers of the two health areas of the municipality.

The process coincides with the 22nd Vaccination Week of the Americas and the XIII World Immunization Week, under the slogan “Vaccines for a full life”, will have a recovery period from April 29 to May 3.
