lorida, April 16 – More than 100 workers affiliated to the 15 unions of the municipality of Florida participate in the voluntary work developed in the Basic Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPC) El Vaquerito belonging to the Agroindustrial Sugar Company Ignacio Agramonte.
The occasion was propitious to make public the call for the celebration of May 1st, World Proletariat Day, in the presence of Federico Hernández Hernández, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province of Camagüey and the party and government leaders of the municipality of Florida.
After concluding the day of voluntary work, in a simple ceremony, representatives of several unions of the territory received awards, among them Commerce, Food, Sugar, Education, Science and Sports, as well as Public Administration and Transportation; a special recognition was also given to the union of Culture for the unconditional support in all the tasks developed during these days in salute to the International Workers’ Day.
Federico Hernández Hernández congratulated the workers for the massive participation in the day and called on them to continue participating in agricultural work in order to increase food production. During his tour of the city of Florida, he visited the Home for Children without Family Care, the Manuel Piti Fajardo General Hospital and the Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz Agroindustrial Sugar Company.
