Florida, Mar. 27 – Floridian researcher and museologist María Antonia Fonte Alzugaray is attending as a delegate to the 9th General Assembly of Associates of the Union of Historians of Cuba (UNHIC), which is being held at the Havana Convention Palace.
After participating in the XVI International Conference of Peoples and their Cultures, in Bayamo, the intellectual attends the capital’s meeting as president and representative of the Union of Historians of Florida.
The scientific and editorial activity, heritage protection, communication, history teaching and training of historians and the internal organization of the UNHIC, are the main topics to be discussed through the five commissions that meet during the Assembly.
This meeting will be a propitious occasion to analyze the work carried out in the last five years and to elect the national secretariat that will guide the management in the next stage.
The Union of Historians of Cuba has the permanent commitment to promote research and the defense of the memory of the Cuban nation.
