Florida, Mar. 15 – In the work system of the administrations at all levels, it is now urgent to reinforce the demands and actions of supervision to ensure the fulfillment of the state functions that must respond in each social and economic sector to the policy of the Cuban government to ensure the greatest possible well-being of the population.
Graciel Rodriguez Rodriguez, an official of the Directorate of Attention to Local Organizations of the People’s Power of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, began his visit to the municipality of Florida with a reflection in this regard. He first held a brief exchange with the highest government authorities and directors of various social institutions and administrative entities of the territory, on some of the main challenges and projections of the country’s work in this complex stage.
After this meeting at the local government headquarters, the official, along with the highest Floridian authorities, went to the Manuel Piti Fajardo Municipal Hospital, where he toured the Maternity ward and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
In dialogue with workers, managers of the institution and the Public Health sector in the territory, he inquired about the availability of food and medical supplies, inquired about the mood of the medical staff after the recent salary benefit and was informed about the actions that are being carried out to improve the conditions of technical assistance and comfort in the hospital entity that receives patients and companions from the municipalities of Florida, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and Esmeralda.
A few meters away from the Florida hospital, the Cuban Cabinet official also visited the Amparo Carriera Montes Maternity Home to learn about the vitality and scope of the services provided in this care center, where they take care of the health of pregnant women with risk factors that endanger their lives or the development of the fetus
In the last stop of the governmental tour to the municipality of Floridan, Graciel Rodríguez Rodríguez visited the Tomás Rojas Packing Plant and held an exchange with the directors of this Basic Business Unit, where there is experience, a lot of knowledge and technical and labor capacity to elaborate a wide range of meat sub-products, although at present there is not enough raw material available to materialize the multiple ideas of this collective, aimed at contributing more to the food programs of the territory and the province.
The official congratulated the management and the members of the Floridian packing plant for their creativity and commitment, and made a commitment to consult with the country’s top management on some proposals from the local authorities regarding the possibility of expanding the administrative powers of this UEB to further enhance its productive capacity in terms of its economic autonomy and the territory
