Florida, Oct. 18.- Since this Monday, a sticker identifies the house of tennis player Adrián Pérez Niebla as the Pan American Family House, on the eve of the participation of the young athlete from the municipality of Florida in the next Pan American Games. Santiago de Chile 2023.
This symbolic act of identifying the athletes’ homes is traditional in Cuba before each multi-sports event, and constitutes a public recognition of the athletes and their families, who receive at that moment signs of affection, respect and admiration from neighbors, coaches and of political and government authorities of their area of residence and of the municipality.
The door of the family home of tennis player Adrián Pérez Niebla already has three stickers, because in addition to the one placed this Monday with the title of Casa Panamericana, his mother and sister still proudly keep the ones belonging to the V ALBA and Central American Games of San Salvador.
During this week the sports family in Florida will also declare the homes of the other four Floridians who make up the Cuban delegation to this event as Pan American Houses: the sprinter Yarima García Díaz, the volleyball player Adrián Chirino, the wrestler Ibraín Torres Espinosa and the Badminton referee , Marices Valdivieso.
