Florida, Aug 7.- During the first weekend of August, the residents of the San Antonio People’s Council enjoyed the Festival de la Espiga, a traditional celebration that takes place in that rice demarcation located in the south of the territory.
Festival dedicated to selecting the spike and its pimples, a title that is achieved by young women who stand out for their beauty and integrity as students or workers and participation in the social life of the community, includes important cultural, recreational and sports activities.
The rescue of the children’s conga and its tour through the streets, together with the adults, baseball game, horse race, raising the greasy stick and other proposals completed the program of activities that included the presentation of the children’s group Pequeños Son and De Morón Theater.
The Festival de la Espiga is a traditional celebration carried out by rice growers to celebrate the beginning of the harvest and is included among the actions carried out in San Antonio with the aim of reactivating the cultural and social life of that rural community, which has repercussions directly in motivations that contribute to the welfare of society.
