Florida, Dec. 1 – Since its founding in 1995, the Paso a Paso Dance Project has been a beacon of creativity and artistic development for girls aged four to six in the municipality of Florida.
Under the direction of art instructor Niurka de las Mercedes Santana Cruz, this project has successfully taught dance and cultivated a supportive, family-like environment that fosters the personal growth of its participants.
After acquiring the necessary skills, the girls perform for the public at cultural events and have the opportunity to enter the prestigious Camagüey School of Art, a significant achievement for them and their families.
The unconditional support of the parents is fundamental to this process, creating an environment conducive to the girls’ artistic and emotional development.
These young girls enjoy each rehearsal and performance as a unique experience; their joy and enthusiasm are palpable in every class, where they develop not only as dancers but also forge bonds of friendship and camaraderie.
Instructor Niurka Santana boasts extensive experience, having participated in four international missions. She is gratified by the project’s results and the positive impact it has had on the girls’ lives. «Seeing them grow and develop is the most rewarding thing,» says Santana, who has dedicated her life to teaching the arts.
The Step-by-Step Dance Project is a symbol of love and dedication in Florida, sowing seeds of talent and passion for dance in each of its members.
