Florida, Jul 15.- Sports authorities in Florida and residents of the neighborhood welcomed the gunman Guillermo Pías del Río, Gold medalist at the Centroamerican Games in San Salvador, to their hometown as a member of the Cuban trio that won the title in the 10 meter air pistol event at this regional event.
The athlete expressed feeling honored with this simple reception at his Florida residence, and in a pleasant and natural dialogue with directors of the sporting activity and friends, he shared some of his experiences in this international competition.
After this athletic event, the shooter from Florida accumulates three participations in Centroamerican games, with a balance of six medals, one silver individually and four gold medals and another silver medal in collective modalities.
Now the gunman Guillermo Pías del Río will get ready to also participate this year in his third Pan American Games, in Santiago de Chile, a multi-sport event scheduled to take place from October 20 to November 5.
