Florida, Jul 7.- The Trivalent Flu Vaccination Campaign began in the municipality of Florida to immunize children from six months to five years of age, initially.
Mr. Reinaldo Morín Báez, head of the Acute Respiratory Infections Program in the territory, reported that 1,120 infants will be vaccinated and will receive the drug during the month of July at the vaccination centers located in the North and South Polyclinics of the city.
The specialist reiterated the need for parents to come with their children to immunize them against influenza, since the Flu Vaccine reduces the risk of contracting the seasonal flu and prevents its complications.
The manager explained that in this 2023 season, the government and the Public Health authorities decided to start vaccination for risk groups in pediatric ages, and stressed that the immunogen will be administered in a single dose of 0.5 millimeters for children from two to five years, and two for infants six months and infants between one and two calendars.
