Florida, Jun 12.- In the most recent meeting of the Temporary Government Working Group in Florida, the impact of the rains of the trough was evaluated, which for several days caused severe flooding in different territories of the province of Camagüey and the entire area eastern part of the country

The material damage in this demarcation is concentrated in the housing fund, with a preliminary report of 10 total collapses and another 32 partial damage to homes, located in the popular councils of Centro urbano, Rolando Valdivia, La Vallita and Agramonte, although to date no loss of human life was reported due to the hydrometeorological phenomenon.
In addition, breakdowns in the municipal electrical network, slight damage to bridges over rivers, streams and canals are observed in the territory; and although the data on crop and production losses are not yet specified, the floods this weekend flooded several of the agricultural areas of the municipality.
In order to preserve human lives, during this hydrometeorological contingency, the Civil Defense transferred some 70 people to safer places, most of them to relatives’ houses and the rest to three state entities, converted into shelters to protect the residents of the areas threatened by the floods and the poor state of their homes.
At the meeting of the Temporary Government Working Group in Florida, it was explained that a more favorable meteorological situation is expected, due to the weakening and transfer of the trough to the west of the country, although in the coming days it may rain in the afternoons due to warming of the day, as is natural in this period of the year.
