Florida, Apr 13.- The defense of the cooperative and peasant movement demands, in addition to the integral functioning of its structures and productive growth, to work firmly in confronting criminal phenomena and corruption that hinder results and limit the good performance of the sector.
This was claimed in Florida by Yailé Castellanos Manso, representative of the National Committee of the Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), during a recent exchange with directors of the municipality’s agrarian organization, where she called to apply to the letter the guidelines of that body seeking to achieve efficiency in tasks such as land use, attention to associates and producers, ideological political work, contracting and collection of agricultural food and combating crime, among other issues.
Referring to the impact of the theft and slaughter of large livestock in the peasant environment, the official reiterated the importance of taking extreme measures to prevent and protect the animal mass on each farm, and highlighted the role of the boards of directors in conducting this task. and criticized the attitudes of complicity or concealment of some ranchers, against the actions of rustlers and criminals.
In the same way, and according to what was said, the fight against crime in the peasant sector of the municipality of Florida should be extended to control the diversion of crops and products committed to industry and social consumption, the illegal purchase and sale of herds and the speculation with food prices, from the retention and opportunistic commercialization of items of high popular demand.
