Florida, Dec 26.- Provincial commissioners of different sports disciplines visited the municipality of Florida and identified 56 students here as athletes with immediate prospects to enter future courses at the Cerro Pelado de Camagüey Sports Initiation School (EIDE).
Baseball, with eight athletes; and Volleyball, Taekwondo and Wrestling, with four athletes respectively, were the disciplines in the territory with the greatest number of talents, according to the criteria of specialists from the Provincial Sports Department, who evaluated the practitioners proposed by the municipality.
In the search for new talents, the provincial sports commissioners added to their examination the validation of the physical conditions and abilities of each of the athletes, in addition to their performance in recent competitions.
The selection of athletes with an immediate perspective to enter future courses at the provincial EIDE is also a moment of evaluation of the training work carried out by the different teams of trainers, technicians and activists of the territory.
This is confirmed by the lawyer Alexis Ortiz Rodríguez, High Performance Methodologist of the Municipal Sports Sector in Florida, in an interview with the journalist Yunier Soler Castellanos.
