Florida, Dec 20.- The registered Seed Bank belonging to the Argentine Sugar Agroindustrial Company, in our municipality, was the venue chosen for the Sixth Provincial Meeting of managers and workers of these units, an exchange materialized with the assistance of representatives of most of the entities of the business system of AZCUBA in Camagüey.
The opening moment of the conference took place at the Basic Cooperative Production Unit (UBPC) Las Martinas, where the delegates and guests of the event appreciated the work of the group in the experimentation, development and use of resistant, high-quality sugar cane varieties. performance and adaptable to the soil conditions of the entity, an action that supports its favorable productive and financial results.
Later and after the welcome, the participants highlighted the favorable transformations that had occurred in said facility and focused their agenda on the analysis of important issues such as the promotion of Agroecology to obtain sugarcane seeds in the current economic situation of the sector and from the country.
They also took stock of the pending agreements from previous events, discussed compliance with the main technical, infrastructure and operational indicators of the sugarcane seed banks and rewarded the location of this type located in the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Sugar Company, as the best in the province in the current year.
When speaking at the Sixth Provincial Meeting of Seed Banks, engineer Lázaro Álvarez Padilla, head of Coordination and Technical Support of AZCUBA in Camagüey, called to defend business attention on the promotion and use of quality seed due to its importance in the sugarcane recovery strategy in the short and medium term.
