Young people from Carlos Manuel de Céspedes join the University Student Federation

Florida, Oct. 8.—The park in the main town of the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes municipality hosted the induction ceremony for young people studying at the territory’s higher education institutions into the University Student Federation (FEU).

The event was attended by Pavel Blanco Martín, First Secretary of the Party in the territory; Héctor Gerona Castro, the municipal administrator; and other political and government officials, alongside leaders of the Young Communist League (UJC) and education sector administrators.

During the ceremony, the students signed the membership register and received the ID card certifying their membership in the organization. This induction marks the beginning of a new phase and entails specific rights and responsibilities within university life.

As part of the ceremony, Mislady Palomino Mancebo, First Secretary of the UJC in Céspedes, presented the FEU flag to Yon Carlos Rodríguez Cervantes, an outstanding student from the area.

Speaking on behalf of the new members, Claudia de la Caridad Estrada Ramos expressed the commitment of the university students from Céspedes to the organization and their active participation in the university community.

Founded in 1922 by Julio Antonio Mella, the FEU is Cuba’s oldest student organization. Throughout its history, it has been linked to the country’s social and political struggles. Today, it promotes university student participation and the development of cultural, sports, artistic, and scientific activities.
