Florida, Sept. 15 – With the start of the new school year, school librarians in Florida will participate in an intensive course on literary appreciation.
This training initiative aims to update the professionals’ knowledge, enabling them to play a more active and effective role in fostering a love of reading among students.
The course will be led by specialists from the municipal Center for Pedagogical Documentation and Information (CDIP), who will share their expertise in children’s and young adult literature. The training will cover everything from the analysis of classic and contemporary works to strategies for connecting students at various educational levels with literary texts.
A key focus of the training is promoting reading as a tool for both pedagogy and personal development. Through a deep understanding of literature, participants are expected to guide children and young people in comprehending texts and finding aesthetic and critical enjoyment in the written word.
In addition to theory, the program includes a session for sharing experiences and brainstorming creative, engaging activities for school libraries. The goal is to transform these spaces into vibrant hubs of cultural activity, where literature serves as a bridge to meaningful learning and the joy of reading.
