Florida, August 3 – More than 600 children between six months and two years old will receive the flu vaccine this month. Children between two and five years old with asthma will also receive the vaccine.
To ensure the vaccination campaign is carried out effectively, public health personnel are visiting the homes of children to raise awareness among parents about the importance of bringing their children in for the flu vaccine, which prevents influenza.
Reinaldo Morín Báez, head of the Acute Respiratory Diseases program at the Florida Municipal Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Microbiology, reported that this health initiative will take place at the vaccination centers of the two polyclinics in the area, with trained personnel administering the vaccine.
The Flu Vaccination Campaign will soon begin in the municipality of Florida, an action that, according to the director, will have a second phase that will benefit senior citizens.
