Florida, July 31 – The province of Camagüey officially concludes the Cuban Historian’s Day Celebrations this July 31, coinciding with the commemoration of the death of the distinguished intellectual Eusebio Leal Spengler.
As part of the final events in Florida, the book «I Am a Child of My Time» will be presented this Friday at the Municipal Documentation and Information Center (CDIP). The book will be discussed by researcher Luis Ortiz Chaviano and researcher María Antonia Fonte Alzugaray, president of the National Union of Historians of Cuba in that province.
The closing ceremony will be held in the municipality of Vertientes, which was recognized for the outstanding work carried out by its local chapter of historians. This distinction highlights the effort and dedication of local historians to the promotion and preservation of Cuban historical heritage throughout these months.
During the day, Florida hosted multiple activities that included conferences, debates and literary presentations, all focused on highlighting the role of the historian in Cuban society.
