Florida, July 27 – As part of the summer program for vulnerable children and adolescents, residents of the Children’s Home for Minors Without Family Support in the municipality of Florida enjoyed a special outing this past weekend at the Japanese Park in the city of Camagüey.
The center plans to continue with other cultural and recreational outings throughout the remainder of the summer season and ensure the overall well-being of the children and adolescents in its care.
This home, which first opened its doors on October 4, 2010, has become a cornerstone of the child protection network in the province of Camagüey over the past 16 years.
The institution provides shelter and food, and also offers a life plan to children, adolescents, and young adults up to the age of 18, with an emphasis on their educational and vocational preparation for adulthood.
Under the direction of Santiago Cedré, the center manages to weave a support network with volunteers and donors, and each activity, like the one this weekend, reaffirms its essence: each child who crosses its doors finds not only a refuge but also a family that encourages him to dream.
