A new anniversary of the Veterans Association will be celebrated in Florida

Florida, December 8 – This December 7, the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution celebrates its 32nd anniversary with each of its members in the municipality of Florida, ready to assume tasks in defense of the Homeland and the achievements of socialism.

Following the example of Fidel Castro and Commander Juan Almeida Bosque, its founding president, this organization brings together veterans of the country’s liberation epics of the 20th century, retirees from the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, internationalist combatants in Africa, healthcare and education workers, along with honorary members adorned with an aura of authority and merit that deserves enduring admiration and respect.

Among the main challenges facing the Florida Veterans Association on its anniversary are increasing membership growth without compromising the human qualities and prestige of its members, strengthening patriotic-military and internationalist training for new generations, and restoring the infrastructure of the association’s municipal headquarters.

The current situation, fraught with challenges and campaigns by the imperialist enemy to discredit the revolutionary work and ridicule its protagonists, demands that we raise the banners of recognition for the courage of these men and women and respect for the history they embody, both individually and collectively, higher than ever.

The celebration, this December 7th, of the 32nd anniversary of the Association of Veterans of the Cuban Revolution reaffirms the words of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz when he noted that «the members of this social organization have ensured the fulfillment of diverse tasks and missions carried out daily,» with the pride of advancing under the guidance of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.
