Florida, Mar. 25 – How to ensure that the main nighttime recreational spaces in the municipality of Florida contribute effectively to the prevention of phenomena such as social indiscipline and drug consumption, and contribute to the formation of values, cultural aesthetics and citizen behavior of the new generations?
With this question, the debate was opened in the most recent weekly meeting on the behavior of criminal activity in the Floridian territory, where the importance of enforcing the provisions of the country’s cultural policy, demanding respect for the night hours allowed for festive and leisure activities in public establishments of the state and private sphere, and increasing the confrontation of behaviors contrary to the socialist legality was evaluated.
During the weekly meeting where several actors of the non-state sector were invited, the highest political and administrative authorities of the municipality made it clear that the objective “is not to limit this type of options”, but to achieve that order, discipline and good taste prevail in the musical balance; to review the decibels in the sound emission and to create a variety of proposals in what they called “the cultural corridor of the city”, to which centers such as El Floridita, Casa Laura, El Tecno Café, El Proyecto La Carpa, the literary center Negro Bombón and the bar-restaurant La Caprichosa pay tribute.
Speaking at the meeting to analyze criminal activity in Florida, Yamirka Goris Benítez, municipal director of Labor and Social Security, called for strengthening the joint actions of the Recreation and Prevention Commissions, together with the bank, in order to carry out inspection tours to night clubs to detect and deal with behaviors that threaten public morals, public tranquility and the healthy enjoyment of the population.
She called for the creation of attractive options to occupy the free time of young people during the daytime, both in state and private places, where the quality of the proposals, the education of artistic taste and the formation of values take priority.
On the other hand, the representatives of the Road and Traffic Commission demanded greater action against the so-called motorcycle races and the use of loud music in self-propelled vehicles such as motorcycles and other means in the city center.
Summarizing the meeting of analysis of the crime in Florida, the first secretary of the Party, Liliana Boudet Nápoles, demanded the permanence of the main managers and owners of night establishments in their place of work during the days and hours of maximum attendance of customers, and asked the Education sector to promote new proposals of activities that favor the recreation and integral formation of the children and young people of the territory.
