Sugar producers from Ignacio Agramonte are ready to develop their industry.

Florida, March 22.- The Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz Sugar Agroindustrial Company, in the municipality of Florida, declared its willingness to play a leading role in the sector’s recovery program, and to achieve this, it demanded greater support from other institutions and organizations involved in the sugar agro-industrial sector in this locality.

In this regard, José Luis Rodríguez González, director of the company in question, called for the creation of banking facilities for the Basic Cooperative Production Units (UBPCs) blocked by debt and by limitations in accessing the financing needed for the sugarcane planting strategy, capitalization, and human and productive development at the base of the system.

«There is a significant deterioration in most of the sugarcane units,» the executive stated before the highest representatives of the Sugar Business Group in the province, and also requested increased support from the various subsidiaries and entities in charge of Azcuba’s logistics.

However, as part of the new sugarcane sector recovery projects, the management of the Ignacio Agramonte sugar mill announced that it will receive support from the Florida government, the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment (CITMA), and the Ron Cuba company, among other local and national stakeholders who promote or benefit from its traditional products and derivatives.

According to the general director of this Florida agro-industrial conglomerate, «both the Board of Directors and the rest of the groups will also promote training and differentiated attention for young people and students in Technical Vocational Education, with the aim of guaranteeing the workforce in the sugarcane and sugar industry.»

For their part, the Cuban Sugar Technicians Association (ATAC) and the innovators at the Ignacio Agramonte sugar mill have joined the list of those willing to consolidate the sector’s renewal, through capacity building and a commitment to innovation and the recovery of essential components and resources that are lacking in the current situation.
