Florida, Mar. 20 – The members of the Community Work Group in the 10th circumscription of the Centro Urbano popular council of the municipality of Florida, developed the meeting of the process called For a Safer Camagüey, convinced of the importance of this call in the current situation.
The exchange promoted by the highest political and governmental authorities of the province and the territory aims to update the people on the socio-political situation of the country; to share results and purposes of the Government Program for energy recovery, food production and price reduction, among other tasks; and to analyze the fight against crime in general and in each area of the districts and popular councils.
The analysis of the functioning of the group of prevention, attention and social work at the base, as well as the debate on the completion of the structures of the mass organizations in the neighborhoods were also included in the agenda of the Process for a Safer Camagüey, held in the 10th circumscription of the Urban Center of Florida.
In the aforementioned exchange Misleydis Núñez Ramírez, member of the Municipal Bureau of the Communist Party offered details regarding the aggressive policy and economic, commercial, financial, ideological and media war of the United States government against Cuba, and denounced its impact on the productive results, basic services and quality of life of the Floridian people.
While answering questions from the members of the Community Working Group, Yosvany Quiñones, director of the Municipal Enterprise of Commerce and Gastronomy, updated details on the upcoming delivery of a significant amount of rice, cigarettes and other products of the regulated family basket, and in this regard requested the collaboration of consumers in the rapid acquisition of the different resources distributed through the warehouses.
Quiñones reiterated that in most of these establishments the online payment is enabled through the QR code, and they also function as extra cash registers for the withdrawal of cash.
On the subject of crime, the leaders and representatives of organizations in District 10 of the Centro Urbano Popular Council recognized their district as the one with the highest incidence in the impact of this scourge, with an increase in robbery, drug consumption, indiscipline and negative behavior, including prostitution and pimping.
The agreement in this sense was to join the collectives of the work centers, and the rest of the neighbors, to the night watch and the popular vigilance in order to increase unity and confront the actions of delinquency.
They also called for greater collaboration of the National Revolutionary Police to control the potential for crime in the neighborhoods, and to strengthen prevention work in each of them, especially in the case of families in situations of extreme social and economic vulnerability.
Before concluding the exchange of the process For a Safer Camagüey in the Floridian demarcation, the Community Group, headed by the delegate of the People’s Power, denounced the situation of the micro dumps and the causes of their growth, including the indiscipline of the neighbors of the area, and condemned the practices of selling shifts and the uncertainty around the ATMs located in the Bank of Credit and Commerce in this municipal capital city.
