The 63rd anniversary of the youth and adult education subsystem is celebrated in Florida.

Florida, Feb. 18 – The current challenge of the institutions linked to Adult Education in Florida, a subsystem of education that will soon celebrate the 63rd anniversary of its creation in the country, is to strengthen the new training and improvement program aimed at boys and girls who are disconnected from study and work or who are in a situation of vulnerability.

With an exchange held at the Camilo Cienfuegos Educational Institution, a day of activities began to remember the emergence, on February 24, 1962, of this educational level that focuses its essential objective on the improvement of all people with the purpose of raising their cultural preparation, taking into account needs, motivations and interests.

The program for the celebration includes the recognition of outstanding teachers and those reincorporated after retirement, as well as students with high academic results; likewise, the work carried out by social entities and organizations in order to continue the professional improvement of young people and adults will be recognized, and the graduation ceremony of 20 students who conclude their studies in this institution, on February 17, is also foreseen.

The Adult Education subsystem is a result of the Literacy Campaign in Cuba and the actions that were subsequently developed to extend educational coverage to the entire population that remained under-schooled, in order to materialize the inclusive policy of the Cuban State.
