Florida, Dec. 2.- Learning about local history motivated students from the José Luis Tassende de las Muñecas special school to visit the Municipal Museum and thus consolidate the ties of collaboration and understanding of the Florida educational system with the cultural institution that is preparing to celebrate its 43rd anniversary.
During their stay at the Museum, the students learned about the institution’s funds, and also appreciated the pieces on display in the eight exhibition halls, which have been enhanced since 2018 with a new museum installation.
The moment was opportune to listen to the lecture by museologist and researcher Margarita Fernández Cervantes on facts and anecdotes related to the history of Florida and its heroes, as a motivation for learning about local heritage on the occasion of the centenary of the constitution of the municipal term, on December 15.
Student visits to the Florida Museum are part of the Third Educational Improvement Program, and among its specifications is the connection between schools and the cultural institution as an opportunity to reinforce the content taught in the disciplines The World We Live In and History of Cuba.
