Florida, Oct. 25.- Representatives of the Communist Party, the Government and the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) of the territory participated in the Balance Assembly prior to the XIII Congress of the peasant organization in the Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS) Rolando Valdivia Fernandez, to share the accountability of its Board of Directors and participate in the debates related to the need to comply with the plans of collection and payment of milk to the industry.
After a journey through impassable dairy roads to the community of El Seis, the delegation listened to the criteria, concerns and needs of the cattlemen and other farmers affiliated to the CCS, but also demanded to respect the agreements for the sale of cheese to the State, in an entity that faces difficulties for the delivery of fresh milk.
According to the meeting, the breeders of the Rolando Valdivia cooperative have today, as a whole, more than 1,400 cows and about 900 calves in lactation period, which makes them the third unit of the Floridian territory with the greatest potential for milking and commercialization of milk.
During almost two hours of exchange, other challenges and tasks were also discussed, including the rehabilitation of internal roads, the water supply to the community of El Seis, and the construction of a new headquarters and social circle for the cooperative and its associates.
The farmers present at the assembly of the XIII Congress of the agrarian organization in the CCS Rolando Valdivia approved the Balance Report, elected their delegates to the municipal meeting, and the candidates and pre-candidates for leadership positions in the higher structures of the National Association of Small Farmers.
At different moments of the meeting, the member of the Municipal Bureau of the Party Leosdani Moredo Hurtado, the vice-president of the Administration Council, Yudier Peña Vargas, and Luis Enrique Arribas, president of ANAP in Florida, denounced gaps in the control of the productions, recalled the duties and rights of the farmers of the sector and appealed to the conscience of the collective to face the current challenges, overcome them and continue forward strengthened, united and productive.
